That armadillo will be replaced by a more efficient robot. If they ever make robot cars that can't be befuddled by traffic cones...

I loved Wilson's Odyssey and must get her Iliad translation. McCarter's Ovid is beside me on my chair.

It's fascinating, that the evening star flowers know rain from sprinklers. I wonder if they would like water from a rain barrel...

Thanks, Thomas! I have been really enjoying your newsletter, which really makes me want to go explore some wild New Jersey—closest I have gotten is the Meadowlands and the Delaware River valley/

Thank you Christopher. The Meadowlands is a rather wonderful place for a polluted Swamp, isn't it? This whole state is an example of how wildlife can thrive once humans stop burning and dumping for a little while.

You make me want to visit Texas, though I'm not sure I can handle the heat. New Orleans in August was bad enough!
