Beautiful column – I just discovered your writing a few weeks ago and I love to read these stories of your rambles. Beautiful photo too of the dragonflies, although I wonder if they are actually damselflies. In any case it's a variety I haven't seen around my southern Ontario neighbourhood.

Those are damselflies, which can fold their wings at rest, unlike dragonflies...
