Funny, I knew exactly who you were referring to at the mention of development lawyer (Richard Suttle) and Habitat representative (Greg Anderson). Oh, speaking of corruption, did you hear about the CAMPO meeting's agenda ìtem involving TXDOT's plans for "autonomous vehicle" highway in the MOKAN corridor? Yeah, it would involve "realigning" the S. Walnut Creek trail; anyway, after loud public outcry last Thurs/Fri, the item was removed from agenda to allow for more public input. I don't know if/when a public hearing will occur.
I will email Council about the milk plant redevelopment; thanks for reminder.
Thanks, Lee! I did see that about the autonomous vehicle route, and should have mentioned that in this post—I’m glad it’s off the agenda for now. Great to see you yesterday, too!
Lots to love (Agustina's paintings!!!) and marvel at here. Tying together Olmstead to cattle drives to Star Seeds is magic. Glad we survived all that Star Seeds had to offer....thanks, as always.
Epic elegiac musings as always. The perfect prose complement to Ballard’s Concrete Island which we are reading this week in my #papermirrors23 ficciones class here at SDSU. Dery is here to lecture on it and more Wednesday at UCSD and Thursday with the Aztecs. Abrazos from the wilds of Califas.
Thank you, Maestro! Abrazos right back, for you and for Mark. I hope he will let you record his lecture so we can all see it! I need to get out there to SD/TJ—it's been more than five years.
Another great blog post, thank you!

And, nice to see y'all on the path yesterday!

The link to the Olmstead item mentioned just leads back to this article, oddly. Infinite loops.
Weird—must have been an authorial error. Here's an alternate: https://www.nebraskapress.unl.edu/bison-books/9780803286207
And full text via Google Books: https://www.google.com/books/edition/A_Journey_Through_Texas_Or_A_Saddle_trip/9mCdATGvnIMC?hl=en&gbpv=1&printsec=frontcover
Great read on an Easter morn. Thank you for the inspiration!
Thank you for reading!

Thanks, James! That was a good Friday, and we'll have to top it with an even better one (and longer walk) soon.
